The Waskahegan Trail Association leads Sunday hikes several times each month. When there is sufficient snow, a portion of the hiking group will cross country ski or snowshoe as an alternative to the hike.  An annual general meeting is held in the Spring and a social in the fall. Volunteer work parties go out from May till October to maintain the trail. Members receive information on these activities through our newsletter. Announcements are also made in the local media.

All events are open to anyone interested in attending and agreeable to norms and standards of WTA.  The association recommends sturdy footwear for hikes, particularly hikes out of the city.  Plan to bring a lunch, adquate fluids, snacks and dress for the conditions.  Please note that participation in a hike is at the sole discretion of the Hike Leader.  

Those participating in scheduled hikes are asked to sign a waiver of liability. Although nonmembers may use the trail, the Association would feel safer if hikers became members, and shared its concerns about the development, care, and future of the trail.
